Formerly known as Hartford Institute, REC College’s success in achieving unsurpassed reputation for its quality education stems from the commitment in service excellence to our students. Our accolades are a testament of the fruits of our labour and while we embark on the next leap, we would like to take a moment back in time to reminisce the efforts invested and sweet success that followed.
A year into its operations, REC College achieved ISO 9002 Certification obtained from the Hong Kong Institute as well as Singapore Institute in 2000. We are building on these strengths as we prepare the next generation of Singaporeans for the future. Graduate Studies at National University Singapore (NUS)
All Doctoral degree programmes at NUS are primarily research-based. They equip students with the skills required to advance knowledge, and human progress. Doctoral degrees are typically the first choice of students who seek depth of knowledge, enjoy creative problem solving, and who aspire to hold high level positions in their respective fields. To accommodate students with full-time employment, some doctoral programmes allow students to enroll on a part-time basis, with modules conducted in the evenings and, in some instances, on Saturdays.
Master's degree programmes are primarily designed to prepare students for the practice of a profession (typically Master's by coursework) or to master a subject area as a precursor to doctoral training (typically Master's by research).
The Graduate Diploma is offered as a terminal qualification and provides limited professional training in a specific niche. The Graduate Diploma is often favoured by those students who seek additional exposure to an area of interest without wishing to commit themselves long-term to further studies.
Prospective graduate students should think carefully about which type of graduate programme most suits their interests and career aspirations. Increasingly, students pursuing a research-oriented career (whether in industry or academe) and/or wanting to advance quickly in their chosen career, elect to enroll in a Doctoral programme.
